have sustainable businesses and the potential for
significant earnings growth.
Sustainable businesses generally have the following
characteristics:
- Proven cash flow with reasonable consistency.
- Credible opportunities for growth.
- Definable competitive advantages.
- Operate in an industry that is fragmented or have significant barriers to entry; and
Companies that have the potential for significant earnings growth generally have several of the following characteristics:
- Untapped potential for significant organic growth;
- Opportunity to expand business through the prudent investment of growth capital;
- Attractive industry dynamics;
- Opportunity to improve profitability through the implementation of operational improvements;
- Might need an expanded management to take company to next level;
- Potential for company to serve as a vehicle for additional acquisitions.
