Edward T. Pratt III
Prior to co-founding SEI, Mr. Pratt was a founder and former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Hollywood Casino Corporation. Mr. Pratt successfully developed the company from inception into one of the premier gaming resort companies in the country with over 6,000 employees and annual revenues of $1 Billion.
Under his direction, Hollywood Casino was a trend setter in the gaming industry developing uniquely themed resort properties. The company's unique property designs and superior operating management enabled its casino resorts to generate some of the highest returns on investment in the gaming industry.
Mr. Pratt successfully orchestrated the $920 million sale of Hollywood Casino to Penn National Gaming in 2003. This merger created the fourth largest gaming company in the world.
Mr. Pratt has extensive experience raising capital for companies, having completed more than two billion dollars in debt and equity financings. He is also an experienced manager of public companies having served as the Chief Executive Officer of two different publicly traded companies.
During his career, Mr. Pratt has successfully developed a multitude of hotel and resort properties throughout the United States, the Caribbean and Latin America. Mr. Pratt created new brands for several of his properties and franchised certain of his other developments.
As the Chairman and principal owner of a private restaurant company, he expanded operations threefold to approximately 120 restaurants before successfully selling the business. Mr. Pratt is also a successful private investor having developed several commercial real estate and land development projects.
As well as being an active partner in Sunrise Equity, Mr. Pratt is actively involved in several civic and charitable organizations.
Mr. Pratt is a distinguished member of the Dean's Lecture Series at Cornell University and has served as the Executive in Residence at Cornell University teaching and mentoring graduate school students.
Mr. Pratt graduated from Cornell University in 1977, with a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Hotel Administration.
